Capture The Record II
CAPTURE THE RECORD II
The Setup:
The competition will begin on Saturday the 20th and the teams will have 1 week to build their base and on Saturday the 27th at 6pm CST the wall between the areas will be removed and it’s PVP time!
Each team will have 6 records to place somewhere in their base, the opposing team must find and take these records to their respective “Record Stations” and push the button and place the record in the chest. Pushing the button will update the scoreboard built into the side of the wall, at the end of the game the records in the chest will be counted. If there is a discrepancy between how many records recorded on the scoreboard and how many records in the chest the latter will be the official count.
The “Record Stations” of each team will be inaccessible by the opposing team to prevent cheating. Also players depositing records should take care to only push the button once in order to keep the scoreboard correct.
The building of Stargates on their own network is permitted to connect the various areas of a team’s base. A private password protected Stargate will also be provided to each team to allow them to access their area during the 1 week build time.
Movecraft will be enabled in the Arena.
PVP Warzone:
The PVP portion of the game will have a 2 hour time limit, at the end of this time limit the winning team will be the one with the most capture records.
If at the end of the time limit the score is tied a “Lightning Round” of 15 minutes will be held. If the scores are still tied after that the game will be declared a draw.
The Control Point:
When the wall is removed a platform in the middle of the map over the void will appear, this platform will bridge the two sides together. This platform will have two color coded levers, the levers will light a flame up above the platform. Green team would light the green flame and flick off the Gold flame and vice versa.
At the end of the time limit of PVP, the team with it’s flame lit will get an extra point.
The Rules:
- No mining is to be done outside the designated Arena. Teams will be penalized if they are caught.
- The records must be held in a chest which is to be placed in a “Vault” (see below for Vault Info)
- MySpawn will be available for use.
- The Spawn area will be a No-PVP area and thus will be a safe area to type and to compose yourself before you head out into the combat.
Starting Materials:
Each team will be provided with the following materials:
- 30 Diamonds
- 64 Bedrock
- 64 Bricks
Vault:
Each team will be given 64 Lapis Lazuli block, the entrances to the vaults must be lined with these blocks. You will have enough to line the entrances for all 6 records and even make some decoys, you can also just elect to put all the records in the same vault and use the rest for decoys.
These vaults can be as big as you like with multiple floors and traps of all kinds to protect the records, decoy chests are also permitted. The chest containing the records must have at least one side open to air.
Entrance to the Vault can be protected with doors or can be blocked off with obsidian or other material so long as the outline of the doorway is lined with Lapis blocks and the Lapis is clearly visible. Bedrock is not permitted to be used to seal the entrance to the vault.
Media:
It would be great if both teams could take either video or pictures during the building and PVP time in order to get a more rounded coverage of the event.
Participation:
If you would like to take part in this event please let me know in-game, in this thread or in a PM. Regardless of whether or not you can be there for the PVP or if you don’t wish to take part in PVP at all, you can still be part of a team and help build up defenses or gather resources. Thanks to the way we are doing it this time around, there is an opportunity for everyone to get involved should they desire to.
If you can make it to the PVP event that’s even better!
